Victory for Thomson
The Sydenham senior captain, K. Thomson, won the single-wicket cricket tournament held yesterday at Denton Park as part of the Hornby gala and cultural celebrations.
In the final, Thomson played B. G. Hadlee (High School Old Boys). Hadlee batted first and was out for three. In the semi-finals, Thomson beat N. Clark (Waltham) and Hadlee defeated I. Hoskin (Hornby). Members of the Riccarton High School first XI were the fieldsmen and a feature of the tournament was the excellence with which they handled the assignment.
