RECORD DAMAGES AWARDED.—Merry Hamp, aged 18, who was awarded record damages of £76,878 in London recently for the loss of her sight seven years ago when chemicals exploded in her eyes while she was a pupil at a convent school in Cheshire. After many operations she now has the limited sight known as tunnel vision.
