Fraternal gifts
When the GovernorGeneral (Sir Denis Blundell), as New Zealand High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, visited Christchurch, Hampshire, he was given several gifts of exchange with Christchurch, New Zealand.
Sir Denis Blundell has been to Christchurch twice since returning as Gover-nor-General, but on the first occasion some of his luggage was held up by the British dock strike, and on the second he was too busy to see everyone he would have liked to have seen.
He left some of the gifts with the Mayor (Mr N. G. Pickering), who yesterday met representatives of the Christchurch Soroptimists’ Club, the Christchurch Harmonic Society, and the Christchurch Round Table.
The Soroptimists’ Club received from its opposite number in Hampshire a past president’s badge, the Harmonic Society received a letter of fraternal greetings from the Grange Choral Society’, and the Round Table received a banner from the Christchurch Round Table No. 533.
