Creche for collectors
A free child-minding service will be provided for the many mothers with young children who want to help with the 6A street appeal today. A temporary creche will be set up at the Maori Centre, 360 Gloucester Street. It will be open from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Four Christchurch women who are interested in the project have undertaken to mind the children.
Those wanting to collect for the 6A appeal today will find the headquarters in the foyer of the Civic Theatre.
Bequest.— A Richmond man has left the Royal New Zealand Foundation for the Blind one of the largest bequests it has received. The bequest, from the estate of Mr J. Hunter, is about $90,000. The foundation is the sole beneficiary of Mr Hunter’s will.— (P-A.)
