Allan (Victoria), in total riding time, was in fourth place in the seven-day cycling tour of Tasmania after the fourth day yestecooper leads the “king of the mountains” section. He was second in three of the hill climbs vesterdav, and was third in the fourth. He is the only New Zealander with a chance of gaining line honours. x Yesterday, the cyclists rode 141 miles between the mining town of Queenstown, on the west coast, and the Derwent Valley in the south. The hill climbs, with stretches over unmade roads, narrowed the field to 14 riders when two more withdrew. Twenty-nine riders started in the 940-mile tour. Allan’s total riding time is 27hr Omin 43sec. D. Wilson (Victoria). 4min lsec behind, is in second place over-all, and R. Sansonetti (Victoria), smin 51sec behind, is third. V. Richards (New Zealand), 30min 26sec behind the leader, is in tenth place, and K. Collins (New Zealand,) 33min 31sec behind, is twelfth*
