No ferry sailing
A dispute between the crew of the inter-island ferry Maori and the Union Steam Ship Company caused the cancellation of last night’s sailing from Lyttelton to Wellington. The general manager of the company in Christchurch, Mr L. M. Fairweather, said the trip had been re-scheduled for 8.30 p.m. today. In the meantime, passengers could stay on board, he said. Mr Fairweather would not say what the dispute was about. At 12.30 a.m. today company-union discussions were still in progress.
