Pearl Buck ill
The Nobel Prize-winning American writer, Pearl Buck, who is 80, is reported to be resting comfortably in hospital in Burlington, Vermont, where she is recovering from pleurisy. Miss Buck won a Pulitzer Prize in 1932, for her second book, “The Good Earth,” and was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1938—Burlington, September 27.
