Parliament’s diary
The House sat at 7.30 p.m. yesterday, its main preoccupation being the completion of the secondreading debate on the National Housing Commission Bill.
A petition asking for investigation of the Development Finance Corporation was tabled. Four notices of motion were given. Ministers answered 10 questions.
The Statutes Amendment Bill and the Local Legislation Bill were read a first time and referred to the relevant committees. The Auckland Regional Authority Empowering Bill was referred to the Local Bills Committee.
The Social Services Committee recommended that the Clean Air (No. 2) Bill, a Government measure, be allowed to proceed and that the Clean Air Bill, an Opposition measure, be dropped.
