Battle of Bands The first South Island heat of the 1972 P and O Battle of the Bands contest will be held at the Caledonian Ballroom on Sunday. The heat will run from midday until midnight, taking the form of a 12-hour non-stop dance. The contest is now in its eleventh week and heats have been held in 10 North Island centres.
Old school ' The director of the Canterbury Museum (Dr R. S. Duff) will visit Wharenui School i next Wednesday to receive ;$lOB raised by the pupils for the centennial wing of the i museum. Dr Duff is a former pupil of the school and won the dux gold medal in Standard 6.
