Rugby league penalties
(N Z P.A .-Reuter—Copyright) SYDNEY. Penalties for breaches of the New South Wales Rugby League’s signing-on fee limit of $2OOO have been announced by the secretary of the league’ (Mr K. Stephen). He said a league club was liable to a fine of $25,000 for a first breach, and $75,000 for any subsequent breach plus immediate disqualification.
A player was liable for disqualification for not less than five years for a first breach and to life disqualification for any subsequent breach. Mr Stephen said clubs would have to provide forfeitable bonds of $lOO,OOO before the start of the 1973 season.
