TOWN HALL TREES
Four golden elms, two plane trees and a magnolia grandiflora were planted in the Town Hall precinct yesterday. The trees are up to 12 years old. The magnolia was given by Mrs G. N. Phipps. The City Council director of reserves (Mr H. G. Gilpin) said that a young oak tree, self-sown among buildings on the site yet to be demolished, would be left.
