U. Scott’s blood
AMERICAN statistics for x 1971 indicate why mares with U. Scott blood in their pedigrees are so keenly sought by breeders everywhere. U. Scott mares had 121 starters last season in the United States, and 91 of them won 388 races and $881,402 in stakes, placing him twenty-third on the list, three places lower than in 1970. Adios was the leading brood-mare sire for the fifth consecutive season, with a record total of $4,006,372. He had 477 starters, 339 of which won 1273 races.
