Management of labour
A seminar on labour management for people in horticulture and fanners will begin at Lincoln College on Wednesday and it will go on for three days. “Efficient and wise labour management is one way in which we can drastically improve profitability within such a labour intensive industry as horticulture, and, to only a slightly lesser extent, within general farming,” says a pamphlet about the course. Discussions will be under the main headings of human relations, organisation and labour control and education and training. The mornings will be devoted to lectures on these subjects and the afternoon sessions will allow participants to prepare advertisements for staff, do practical interviewing of applicants for positions, a work study exercise, and practical job instruction.
The seminar should be of interest to all primary producers and to those servicing agriculture.
