POL-LINK VIEW

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 28. The executive of Pol-Link is concerned at suggestions that the N.Z.B.C. may discontinue the editorials in the “Listener,” the chairman, Mr John Marshall, said in a statement. Pol-Link is the activist group within the National Party. Mr Marshall is the Prime Minister’s son. “The ‘Listener’ articles and editorials are of a creative, thought-provoking, liberal and independent nature,” he said.

“The ‘Listener’ has a vital role as a leader in the continuing debate about New Zealand’s identity as a nation and its own social and cultural heritage. Its role as such should be encouraged and not stifled.”
