B-Kts. 4: Kt-83, P-84. 5: P-K3, Kt-83. 6: B-Q3, BxKt (check). 7: Pxß, P-Q3. 8: P-K4, P-K4. 9: P-Q5, Kt-K2. 10: Kt-R4, P-KR3. 11: P-84, Kt-Kt3. 12; KtxKt, PxKt. 13: PxP, PxP. 14: B-K3, P-Kt3. 15: 0-0, 04). 16: P-QR 4, P-QR 4. 17: R-Ktl, B-02. 18: R-Kt2, R-Ktl. 19: QR-KB2, Q-K2. 20: B-82. (At this point Spassky had taken 50 more minutes for his moves than Fischer.)
20: . . . P-KKt4. 21: B-Q2, Q-KI. 22: B-Kl, Q-Kt3. 23: Q*Q3, KI-R 4. 24: RxR (check), RxR. 25: RxR (check), KxR. 26: B-Ql, Kt-85. 27: Q-82. (A great blunder by Spassky; the correct move was Q-K3.) 27: . . . BxP. 28: White resigned. (If Spassky had played Qxß on his 28th move, Fischer would have replied with QxP and won.)
