THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY ASSOCIATE LIBRARIAN (READER SERVICES) Applicants must be graduates of a recognised University and Associates of the Library Association of Australia (or hold equivalent qualifications). Experience in the operation of reader services, especially in academic or research libraries, and advanced study or research, whether or not in librarianship, are highly desirable. The appointee will be responsible to the Librarian for the administration of the Reader Services Dvision. The Division provides reader services n the main (Fisher) Library, operates the Branch Libraries and coordinates the Department Libraries. Present staff of the Division is 115. The University of Sydney Library is the oldest, largest and most used Australian university library. In 1971 there were 851,738 loans from the Library and 47,760 reference enquiries. Salary: $12,084 (Australian) p.a. and subject to deductions under State superannuation.
