Many people not on roll

Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 12. ’ Persons who were enrolled J for the last General Election, but who have not yet 1 received enrolment cards for 1 this year’s General Election, were urged yesterday to get i in touch with their nearest : registrar of electors. i The Registrar-General of Electors (Mr J. L. Wright) 1 said that “quite a large ’ number” of enrolment cards ' were being returned marked i address unknown. “Obviously many people 1 who have not received enrolment cards have not noti- ] fled us of a change of address since the last election,” • he said. • The main electoral roll will close on July 26. Enrolments i will then go into the supplementary roll, which will 1 close on the day the election • writs are issued, usually a 1 month before polling day. The main roll will prob- i ably be available for inspec- i tion by about mid-Septem-ber. 1
