Freighter sold
(N.Z Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 12. The 3506-ton Union Steam Ship Company freighter Waimate has been sold to a Philippines shipping company and will be delivered at Auckland later this week. The Waimate, built in 1951 by Henry Robb, of Scotland, has been idle for some time. She had been on the Tasman and Pacific Islands service. The company has five other ships on the market for sale. ' These are the freighters ! Squall, Mamaku and Holmwood at Nelson, and the tug Tapuhi and passenger ship Maori at Wellington. Two other ships, the Taveuni and Kaimiro, are ' idle at Auckland and Wel- ! lington respectively, but are j not up for sale.
