BOLTE TO RETIRE

(N.Z Press Assn,—Copyright) MELBOURNE, July 11. Sir Henry Bolte, who has been Premier of Victoria for 17 years, today announced his impending retirement from politics. He said that he would resign from both the Premiership and as a member of the state Parliament towards the end of August. The state Governor (Sir Edmund Herring) was told this morning of the decision. Sir Henry Bolte’s successor is expected to be the present Deputy Premier and Chief Secretary (Mr Rupert Hamer).
