Boy helps museum

Among the gifts of money received by the Canterbury Museum’s centennial wing appeal recently was one of $3 from an 11-year-old boy. The boy, Mark Tobeck, of Hornby, sent the money to the museum director (Dr R. S. Duff) after he had been shown some of the many exhibits which are stored away from public view because of the lack of space. Mark said he felt that the new wing to the museum would make it possible for the public to see more of the museum’s collection; so he raised money for the appeal by looking after a dog, mowing lawns, and collecting soft-drink bottles.
