Concrete truck stuck

A truck loaded with concrete belonging to Masonry Services, Ltd, remained stuck at Port Levy last night after it tipped on its side at the edge of the road yesterday morning (see picture). The driver, Mr R. Turner, was not hurt in the mishap; but because the bowl on the truck could not revolve the concrete in it set hard. A tow truck, seen at the top of the picture, itself got stuck. Last night a crane was being used in an attempt to get the concrete truck back on its wheels. The manager of the firm (Mr H. P. Oberg) said that men would work through the night to clean the concrete from the bowl with air tools, compressors, and hoses. If they were unsuccessful. the bowl, valued at $2OOO, would have to be written off, he said.
