Big win in lottery

AUCKLAND, July 3.
A Manurewa dairy owner opened for business this morning as usual, feeling a little tired but $236,218 richer. The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, won first prize in the Tattersails Grand National Hurdles sweepstake on Saturday. An Australian report said that another Auckland man had won second prize, of $47,243. The winner, aged 43, with three children, said he was a “sucker” for every raffle ticket that came along. “But I’ve only ever had $lO out of the Kiwi. I’ve got a whole clipboard of dud tickets.” The win was celebrated quietly at home with a few friends.
“I imagine the logical thing to do with the money will be to invest it, but I haven’t got any plans yet.
. . . I’ve worked hard all my life and then to win all this money—it just dosen’t make sense,” he said.
