Arts Council appointment
The chairman of the Auckland Theatre Trust (Mr Roy Walker) has been appointed to the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council. “I am sure he will make a very valuable contribution to the work of the council, narticularlv to the work of the Theatre Arts Panel, of which the late Professor J. C. Reid, of Auckland, was chairman and a valued member,” said the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Highet).
Mr Highet added that professor Reid’s loss was a sad blow to the council. His efforts on behalf of the arts during his membership of the council had been untiring.
