N.Z. might see film
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 16. The American-made television film, “The Woman I Love,” about King Edward VIII and Mrs Wallis Simpson, has been ■ rejected by British television, but its producers might try to sell it to New Zealand. The film has not been submitted to the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation, but has been sold to Australia, Canada, France and other countries. The N.Z.B.C. last year broadcast a British-produced film, “The King’s Story,” based on a book written by the late Duke. The public relations officer for the N.Z.B.C. (Mr L. Boyes) said today that the offer of “The Woman I Love" to New Zealand markets was delayed by the recent death of the Duke. If it were submitted to the N.Z.B.C.' it would be subjected to normal screening procedures before a decision was made about it, said Mr Boyes.
