This children’s playground off Cashmere Road was provided at a cost of more than $10,000 by the Heathcote County Council. It was designed by Mr L. Karasek, lecturer in design at the School of Fine Arts, Ilam. The venture has been such a success that the council has nearly completed an $ll,000 development for young and older children at the Hollis Avenue reserve, and plans similar playgrounds elsewhere.
