Con. Silver to mine perlite

(N.Z. Preu Auodatlon) AUCKLAND, June 12. Consolidated Silver Mining Company of New Zealand, Ltd, plans to set up a mining operation to work a large perlite deposit on Great Barrier Island.

A report from the company’s geological consultants says that the proved content of the deposit was one million tons of material worth about $l5 a ton when extracted. Possible reserves were as high as 100 million tons.
