Trust grants total $l700
Grants totalling $l7OO have been made by the Robert Clark Trust Fund for 1972. The fund was established in 1937, on the death of Mr Clark, for the assistance of poor and needy persons or organisations for the relief, maintenance and assistance of the poor and needy in Canterbury. After advertising throughout Canterbury, several applications for assistance were received from organisations, and the following grants have been made: Birthright (Ashburton), $200; Cholmondeley Children’s Home, $100; Christchurch City Mission, $300; Methodist Central Mission (Christchurch), $150; the Salvation Army Emergency Lodge (Christchurch), $200; the Salvation Army Home (Temuka), $250; the South Canterbury Presbyterian Social Service Association (Timaru), $100; Birthright (Titnaru), $200;. St Vincent de Paul (Ashburton), $2OO. A special emergency relief fund is also administered by the board. From this, grants can be made to individuals in cases of genuine urgent need
