QUANT SHOES

(N.Z. Press Assn,—Copyright) LONDON, April 6. The London designer, Mary Quant launched British teen-agers in highstepping colour at her autumn and winter shoe showing recently, the Press Association reported. Miss Quant’s shoes featured big wedge and stacked heels, up to three inches high. Colour-contrasts included hot pepper with brown, pastel yellows, blue and greens combined with purple, burgundy and brown, and black with brilliant red. Among the most eye-catch-ing were: “Daisy Mae," a pale blue T-strap shoe with 3in wedge heel and pink and cream toe; “Lil Abner,” a sling-back peep-toe sandal in brilliant red striped with green and yellow, on an inchthick platform sole; and "Carmen Miranada,” an evening style sandal in black calf, the heel and instep encircled with diamante.
