Qualifiers for Cheviot
Highland Spinster and Palmdale, the first two to finish in the second heat run before the track deteriorated too badly, were among the impressive qualifiers for two races for maiden pacers at the Cheviot Trotting Club’s meeting tomorrow week at Rangiora Raceway. The seven elimination heats were run in heavy rain at Addington Raceway. Those to finish In the first four and qualify to start were Andata. Ann Arbor, Armbro Rebel, Bachelor Frost. Bridie, Champion Rose, City Cross, Curragh’s Dream. Daisy Queen, Egyptian Acres. General Larnie. Gigi Lamour, Globe Fighter, Good Pace, Good Show, Hazy Dream, Highland Spinster. Leading Lass. Marama Boy, Mecca Lass, Mecca Maid, Miss Bay. My Darling, Newstead Lad. Palmdale, Rory Grattan. Teamwork. Vote. The four fastest fifth placegetters, Shield Point. Johnny Chapparel, Lumber Man and Wakanui, will also gain a start, while the right of re-entry will be given to Golden Glow, Rose Chase and Danny Deevcr.
