Lutheran visitor
A Lutheran pastor with a ministry among youth, the Rev. T. Prenzler, will arrive in Christchurch today to spend three days observing and participating in Lutheran youth work in the city. Pastor Prenzler, youth director for the Lutheran Church in Australia, has just returned from an overseas study tour in which he observed methods and trends in youth work with a view to adapting them to Australian needs. He visited Germany and England, and spent three months and a half in the United States and a week in Canada investigating the Jesus Movement, and new approaches to youth work. On Monday Pastor Prenzler will leave Christchurch to visit Upper Moutere parish and North Island Lutheran centres. On Sunday he will speak at St Paul’s Lutheran church and later at an open forum. In the evening he will conduct an informal meeting at the church manse.
