Changing mood in S. Africa

The American Negro leader, Mr Roy Wilkins, who arrived home today after a week-long visit to South Africa, said that he had been greatly encouraged by the changing mood among white people in that country. Mr Wilkins, who is president of the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People, added that he did not suggest the change applied to the majority bf whites, but it was particularly noticeable among young people. "They are beginning to question whether the Government’s policies have been productive to the cause of peace,” he said.
