Beef prices up
i The prices to farmers for I all classes of cattle killed for i export will be increased from I Tuesday. . The increases range from 50c per 1001 b for g.a.q. and f.a.q. ox and heifer and g.a.q. cow beef to $1 per 1001 b for y.a.q. ox and heifer, boner cow. ox and heifer and overfat cow, ox and heifer, and I also for boner bull beef. The new prices are: G.A.Q. ox.—Grade I, $24; 11, $22.50; 111, $21.50. | F.A.Q. 0x—523.50. ' Y.A.Q. ox—Up to 4201 b, $l9; lover 4201 b. $2O. G.A.Q. heifer. —Grade I, $24; 111, $22.50; 111, $21.50. F.A.Q. heifer.—s23.so. Y.A.Q. heifer. —Up to 4201 b, I $l9; over 4201 b, $2O. ! G.A.Q. cow.—Grade I, $2l; 11, $19.50. F.A.Q. c0w. —519.50. Boner cow, ox and heifer.— Grade I, $l9; 11. $lB. Overfat cow, ox and heifer.— $10.50. Boner bull. —Grade I, $l9; 11, $23.50; HI, $22.50. Bells to ring The bells of Christchurch Cathedral will be rung tomorrow in honour of the Bishop of Aotearoa (the Rt. Rev. M. A. Bennett) and the Maori Queen (Dame Te Ata-i-Rangikaahu) who is due in Christchurch on Wednesday. For Bishop Bennett, already in the city, there will be a Touch of Grandsire Triples and for the Maori Queen a Touch of Superlative Surprise Major.
