Mark Lobell for stud
Mark Lobell the only son of Overtrick at the stud In New Zealand, has arrived at Mr F. L. Holmes’s property at Ellesmere, where he will do stud duty next spring. Mark Lobell, foaled in 1968, severed a tendon as a yearling and was never tried for racing. As a result, this royally-bred young horse was not keenly sought when offered at auction, and he was able to be purchased for New Zealand.
Overtrlck, the winner of $407,000 in stakes, held eight world records, and he is now one of the mostly keenly-sought-stallions in the United States. From his second crop of foals he left four two-minute two-year-olds, including Adover Rainbow, which took a record of imln 57 4-ssec at that age. Overtrick was got by Solicitor from Overbid, by Hal Dale the sire of Adlos and Good Time, from Barbara Direct, the dam of Bullet Hanover, which recorded Imln 57sec at two years, and Imln 55 3-ssec a year later. Milmite, the dam of Mark Lobell, has left the winners of more than s3so,ooo—Amortlzer (Imln 59sec) and Lord Butler (Imin 58sec). Another son. Reporter, sired a champion four-year-old in Bulletin (Imln 59sec).
