P.D.L. car to race

Replacement parts for the badly-damaged engine of the P.D.L. racing team Mustang, driven by P. Fahey in the national saloon-car championship have been flown from the United States, and the car will be ready for the second-last race of the series, at Bay Park, Tauranga, on Easter Monday. Fahey, the only South Island-entered contender for over-all honours in the Bank of New South Wales series, is leading the championship. But his lead was reduced to 5.5 points after he failed to finish in the last race, at Pukekohe, as a result of the engine siezing at 120 m.p.h.

A broken oil-pump caused the failure.

Hol»-ln-on«.—G. Allta, a member of the Amur! Golf Club, holed his tee shot at the seventh green (232 yards) during the Hawarden club's men’s open foursomes tournament.
