Stoppage at plant
About 250 motor-assembly workers stopped work at the Sockbum plant of Steel Bros, Ltd, yesterday over the dismissal of a member of the coachworkers’ union. They returned to their duties after a secret ballot of workers had accepted the dismissal. The maximum stoppage at the plant was four hours. The majority of workers lost I only two hours and a quarter.
