Youth gaoled for life

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) PHOENIX (Arizona), March 29. Louis Taylor, aged 17, who was convicted in Phoenix last week on 28 counts of first-degree murder, was sentenced today to imprisonment for life. Taylor was arrested soon after flames had raced through the upper portion of the Pioneer International Hotel in Phoenix on December 20, 1970, killing 28 persons and injuring dozens more.

“I am sorry for you,” Judge Charles Hardy commented. “You are no different from any other kids who thoughtlessly do things. I do not believe you knew what would happen.”
