Road death publicity
Newspapers and the N.Z.B.C. would be approached by a representative from the Road Safety Committee and asked to run a daily or weekly item on the numbet of road deaths in Christchurch, the committee decided at its annual meeting. “Even if it is stated that there were no road deaths on any particular day, the constant reminder to drivers by this local news item would be sure to bring home to drivers the possibility that they themselves could have an accident,” one member said.
Mr R. s. Mayer was reappointed chairman of the committee and Mr T. L. Hogan was appointed deputychairman.
