SOCKBURN COUNCIL
Rating relief investigation
Rating relief for elderly Eersons will be investigated y the Sockbum Borough Council. This was decided at the council’s monthly meeting this week. The council has the power to remit or postpone payment of rates. In the latter case there is provision for a charge to be made against the estate. The council will also conduct a survey of the needs for pensioner housing in the borough, and to try to improve the design of street signs, particularly those which service streets with underground wiring.
