In Demand favoured in Winton event
"The Press" Special Service A clash between In Demand and Johnny Kirk promises to highlight the Central Handicap, the first leg of foe TAB double at the Winton Trotting Club’s meeting tomorrow. In Demand has proved himself one of the best in his class in the south and the Templeton visitor Johnny Kirk, a last-start winner, is a three-year-old colt of real potential.
The field is a good one with the last-start winners, Frenchelle and Long Book, and form runners. Fait Accompli, Recollection, Ablain, and Johnny's Brother, engaged. Shortwaves, True Globe and Gold Trail may fare best in a strong field for the second leg, the Lochiel Handicap.
An on-course double will be run on the first Brown’s Novice and the Frst Members' Handicap for which
Wakanui and Colossal Dick may be the respective favourites. There has been rain during the week and the sting will be out of the track.
