An under-18 men’s basketball team from Newcastle would play the Canterbury colts in Christchurch on May 15, said the provincial selector-coach (Mr R. McCormack) yesterday. ; The team would also meet New Zealand juniors in two matdies during its tour. Although local competitions were not expected to begin until after Easter, Mr McCormack said he hoped to have his-squad chosen within a month. “We haven’t got much time to prepare for the Australians/’ he said. !
