Speedboat held on ship

IH.I. Preu Assn. —Copyright) SYDNEY. A New Zealand speed* boat shipped to Sydney to take part in the national Inboard championships at Easter has been kept aboard the Maheno by the Customs Department

Customs officials said the boat was insured for $7OOO and the owners would have to pay a bond of 53 per cent

before the boat could come ashore. However, the owners, J. and K. McGregor, came to Sydney with just the amount required to pay the bond on a $4200 boat They say the cost of the boat was small because it was built at home.

The McGregor brothers now will have to leave the boat on board the Maheno, or raise the funds for it to be released and enter the championship.
