Motor-cycle fatality
(N.Z. Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, March 22. A Rotorua youth was killed last night when the motor-cycle he was riding was involved in a collision with a car outside Massey University. He was David John Kensligh, aged 19, of Haupapa Street, Rotorua.
Giving rises Giving by churches to last year’s National Council of Churches Christmas Appeal is up by 40 per cent on last year’s figure of $105,000. So far, $175,000 has been received. Of this, $54,000 has been earmarked for Bangladesh. The Rev. R. M. O’Grady, the associate gen-eral-secretary of the N.C.C., said that the increased giving meant that all overseas pledges could now be met and fresh projects considered.
