Referendum in Irish Republic
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyrights DUBLIN, March 22. The Irish Republic’s referendum to decide whether to join the Common Market will be held in May, the Prime Minister (Mr Lynch) told the Dail yesterday. Two of the other three E.E.C. candidate-nations are also holding referenda: Norway, in September, and Denmark in October.
Britain’s entry will be ratified by Parliament, a national poll having been ruled out by the Prime Minister(Mr Heath).
