PURSUIT TEAM TODAY

The national cycling selectors expect to name today the five team pursuit riders they will nominate for the Munich Olympic Games. The convenor of the panel (Mr C. J. Hollows), said yesterday afternoon he did not “expect fantastic times” in last evening’s meeting at English Park.

“But we aim to sort out the best combination as soon as possible, and I feel we have to make up our minds by Thursday at the latest,” he said.

“We will be having morning and late afternoon sessions each day till Sunday. These will probably be from about 9 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and 5 p.m, to 730 p.m. And after tonight, I expect the times to start to come.”
