Roydon Roux easily
Bay Foyle staged a comeback win in the First Quality Handicap last Friday at Harold Park. He moved up five wide from the three furlongs and came on to win well by a head from Ima Pride, after pacing the 113 furlongs at a mile rate of 2min 5 4-ssec.
Bay Foyle, a firm favourite at 2 to 1, is expected to Improve as a result of the race, and should strip a fit horse for the Miracle Mile on Friday.
Roydon Roux took Isec from Alipes* race record when she won the Jack Rai th Memorial Stakes Final. She raced outside the pacemaker, Valiant Girl, until the home turn and then drew away to win by three yards from Miss Hondo. She paced the 9J furlongs at a mile rate of 2mln 5 2-ssec. Roydon Roux, which started at 2 to 1 on, is expected to shine against the colts and geldings in the heats of the New South Wales Pacers* Derby on March 17. On Saturday at Canberra. Manaroa created a track record of 2min 1 4-ssec when he won the Viscount Flying Mile. He broke the previous record by almost 3sec.
