Nuclear treaty stamps

The Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons Treaty, 1968, is the theme of two commemorative stamps issued on February 14 by the United Nations. The stamps, which were designed by the Norwegian artist, Arne Johnson, feature a white mushroom cloud with a background of dark nuclear cloud. There is an 8 cent stamp, which is coloured pink, blue and black, and .40 Swiss franc stamp in green, blue and black. They are not valid for postage in New Zealand, but are obtainable from the Philatelic Bureau, Private Bag, Wellington, and the philatelic sales sections, Christchurch, for 7c and 9c respectively.
