Property sales
Industrial land, with frontages to Moorhouse Avenue and Mortimer Place, in three separate titles with a total area of 45.2 perches was passed in at $39,000 at auction yesterday. The Government valuation is $37,000. A 2500 sq. ft building covers the site with access to Mortimer Place. The other site, opposite the Christchurch Railway Station, is vacant land. The auctioneer was Mr C. M. Robertson, of Sherris and Wilson, Ltd. A house converted into three self-contained flats on a 19.6-perch section at 49 Gracefield Avenue, was sold for $19,000. The property, at the comer of Gracefield Avenue and Durham Street, has a Government valuation of $lO,BOO.
The auctioneer was Mr M H. McCrostie, of N. H. Mo Crostie and Company. A two-bedroom, weatherboard bungalow on a 24.7perch section at 37 Gossett Street, St Albans, was sold for $lO,OOO. The Government valuation is $7350. The auctioneer was Mr R. G. Bell, of R. G. Bell and Company. A two-bedroom bungalow and attached self-contained flat on a 30.2 perch section at 12 Hargood Street, Woolston, was passed in at auction for $10,400 and sold immediately afterwards for an undisclosed sum. The Government valuation is $7600. The auctioneer was Mr M. J. C. Robinson, of Matthew Robinson, Ltd.
