JERUSALEM, March 7.

Israeli archaeologists say that they have found a hidden staircase leading to the temple built in Jerusalem by King Herod nearly 2500 years ago, the Associated Press reported. The structure built by Herod on Mount Moriah was the second temple of the Jews. The first had been built by King Solomon in 960 B.C.

Solomon’s temple was destroyed by Herod and Herod’s by the Romans in 70 A.D.
