A remarkable 3.2 sec was clipped off the New Zetland men’s 4 x 100 metres freestyle record at Dunedin's Moana Pool last night, when four Otago swimmers went the distance in 3mln 48 8 sec The ’first three swimmers J. McConnochie, P. Lal ag, and S. Tiling each swam the 100 metres tn about 58sec. With M. Borrie swimming whst is probably the fastest time for the 100 metre, in ths country this set son for ths last leg in 56sec. • The record is remarkable In that the two Laings and Borrie will not be competing at the national championship? this week, but will be travelling to the national surf champio:ishlps, and McConnochie spent the last two days in bed, and it was thought for a time he would be unable to compete in the nationals.
