Injured man trapped

A St John ambulance officer and other men worked for about 15 minutes to free a driver trapped in his car which was involved in a collision with another car outside 360 Johns Road, Belfast, about 5.40 p.m. yesterday. A crowbar had to be used to shift a seat and release the driver. Jack Beaumont, aged 53, of R.D. Kaiapoi. Mr Beaumont suffered cislocation and fracture o:’ both knee caps in the acciiient He was admitted to Christchurch Hospital where his condition last night was reported to be satisfactory. The driver of the other car, Rigby Manahi, aged 21, of Woodend, suffered an injury to an eye. He was admitted to Burwood Hospital where his condition was not available last night.
